Save the Date: Back to School Picnic!
Back-to-School Picnic — Wednesday, September 2 | 5:30–7:30 PM
Join the Bells Mill community for the PTA’s Back-to-School Picnic. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy a DJ, face painting, concessions, spirit wear sales, and information from after-school enrichment providers.
🍕 Pizza: Pizza will be available for purchase. Pre-orders are available through Friday, August 28 and are strongly recommended. A limited number of individual slices will be available at the event.
Admission: Free and limited to Bells Mill families. Please register everyone in your party so we have an accurate attendance count. Children must be accompanied by an adult; this is not a drop-off event.
After School Enrichment Programs Now Open
The Bells Mill PTA is excited to help coordinate a variety of before & after-school enrichment activities during the school year. From sports ⚽ to STEM 🤖 and art 🎨, there’s something for everyone.
⚠️ Important: All programs are run by outside providers (not the school or PTA). Please contact the vendor directly with any questions about schedules, supervision, or safety.

Volunteer Information for Parents
There’s many ways to volunteer your time at Bells Mill - this year, parents can sign up to volunteer directly with the school, in addition to volunteering in support of the PTA. If you have some free time on a one-off or regular basis, there is something for everyone, and we need parents like you to support!
Please register your interest in volunteering using the links below; and expect to hear back from either Mrs. Tilkens, our Vice Principal or a member of the PTA with more information on next steps. Thank you for supporting our school and our students!

Returning families: Verify or update your family contact information, add any new students, update your child(ren)’s teacher(s), and review your privacy settings. Remember to join the PTA — this must be done each school year!

MCPS Back to School Fairs - August 22
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) will host six regional Back-to-School Fairs for the kickoff of the 2026–2027 school year on Saturday, August. 22. The Central Region Fair will be held at Richard Montgomery High School, 1-4pm.
The regional fairs are designed to make it easier and more fun for families to get connected and ready for the first day of school. Each fair will feature easy-to-navigate zones where families can find exactly what they need, whether it’s student registration, technology support, school meal information, communication tools, school supplies, schedules, or an opportunity to meet school staff and learn more about their school community.
Families will also have direct access to knowledgeable MCPS staff from transportation, technology, special education, multilingual services, mental health, and other central offices who can answer questions and provide support — all in one convenient location. In addition, community organizations, government agencies and after-school providers will be on hand to share resources, opportunities and services available throughout the year. To make the day more enjoyable and memorable, each fair will feature family-friendly activities, giveaways and fun!
