Please Update Your Info in the PTA Directory!

Thank you to the 227 families and 30 teachers that have joined the PTA this year. We are eager to award the first class to reach 100% membership with Bells Mill Squishy Cubes - but many families have not updated their student’s homeroom teacher from last year, and many are still blank!

Updating is simple: click on the menu (3 bars) > update directory information > click “your family information” > continue to “student information” and select your child(ren)’s homeroom teacher”.

Please review/update your information in Membership Toolkit so we can announce the winning class shortly!

Parent Volunteers Needed - PCR Drill September 17

Bells Mill still needs parent and guardian volunteers for our Parent-Child Reunification (PCR) Drill this Thursday, 2.30pm-3.30pm. Participants will act as parents picking up their children and follow the school’s emergency reunification process, including identification, sign-in and student checkout. The purpose of the drill is to practice the process we would use to safely and efficiently reunite students with their families if an emergency or other event prevented us from using our normal dismissal procedures.

Please bring a government-issued ID. MCPS volunteer training is not required for this drill, and no advance registration is necessary—parents and guardians may simply show up.

We sincerely appreciate everyone willing to give their time. More participants will make the drill more realistic and help staff prepare for an actual emergency.

Short Survey to Inform BMES Advocacy Priorities

The Bells Mill PTA is gathering input from our school community to help inform the advocacy priorities our Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA) delegates bring forward during the 2026–2027 school year.

This short survey will help identify the issues that matter most to Bells Mill families. You will have an opportunity to review key advocacy areas and select the three priorities you believe should receive the greatest attention during the 2026–2027 school year.

Your feedback will help our Bells Mill MCCPTA delegates better represent the interests and concerns of our school community in countywide discussions and advocacy efforts. Please complete the survey by Sunday, September 20.

Save the Date: Breakfast with Bears! October 12

It’s that time of year again to have coffee and donuts on the blacktop with our Bears! Please join us on Monday October 12, 8.30am-9.05am (rain date October 13) and meet with new friends and families, and Bells Mill staff. In order to provide enough breakfast for everyone, please RSVP if you are planning to attend. We also need volunteers to help with setup, serving breakfast and cleanup. We can’t run these community events without the support of our wonderful volunteer parents and caregivers!
