Thank you to the 232 families and 33 teachers that have joined the PTA this year. We are eager to award the first class to reach 100% membership with Bells Mill Squishy Cubes - but many families have not updated their student’s homeroom teacher from last year, and many are still blank!

Updating is simple: click on the menu (3 bars) > update directory information > click “your family information” > continue to “student information” and select your child(ren)’s homeroom teacher”.

In the spirit of providing more volunteering opportunities, the PTA has created many of the volunteer signup forms for the school year ahead of time, to allow parents to plan ahead, and be more involved with both the PTA and our school. Carmen’s Italian Ice | 3–9 PM

Mention Bells Mill when you order, and 20% of your purchase will be donated to the PTA. These funds are used to fund over 50 programs and initiatives for our students throughout the school year.

It’s that time of year again to have coffee and donuts on the blacktop with our Bears! Please join us on Monday October 12, 8.30am-9.05am (rain date October 13) and meet with new friends and families, and Bells Mill staff. In order to provide enough breakfast for everyone, please RSVP if you are planning to attend. We also need volunteers to help with setup, serving breakfast and cleanup. We can’t run these community events without the support of our wonderful volunteer parents and caregivers!

MCPS has announced a two-year planning process in response to declining countywide enrollment and differences in school capacity and utilization. The process will consider potential elementary and middle school closures and consolidations, followed by a countywide review of school boundaries.

Here’s what families should know:

MCPS is holding two rounds of community engagement sessions where families can learn more, ask questions and provide feedback on the factors and metrics that will guide the process.

We encourage Bells Mill families to attend and participate in this important countywide conversation.

The first round of community engagement will take place October 19–November 2, followed by a second round November 30–December 10. Both virtual and in-person sessions will be available throughout Montgomery County.
